Liverpool Boutique Hotel

As a truly unique Liverpool boutique hotel, 62 Castle St is proud of its opulant surroundings that are steeped in history. The building has a Grade II listing, which shows the importance and beauty of this Liverpool boutique hotel's architecture. Many people are aware that listed buildings are special, but what is it that makes a building suitable for being listed?

Buildings which are referred to as listed, are those which have special architectural, historical or cultural significance. This is a relatively prestigious accolade and is only applied to approximately half a million buildings in the UK, including this Liverpool boutique hotel.

To create the beautiful Liverpool boutique hotel we see today, Centre Island Hotels needed to re-design the building's interior and fully refurbish it. With special permission, the building could then be transformed into the luxurious and exclusive Liverpool boutique hotel we see today.

As we have already established, 62 Castle St is a Liverpool boutique hotel in a Grade II listed building. There are three types of listed status:

  • Grade I: buildings of exceptional interest.
  • Grade II*: particularly important buildings of special interest.
  • Grade II: buildings of special interest.

This means that this Liverpool boutique hotel is regarded as a building of special interest. It is thought that there are approximately 442,000 listings in place of which 18,000 are Grade II listed.
